The Municipal Council of Aguadulce, in Coclé province, approved Agreements 107 and 108 on September 29, 2026, which were signed on September 30 by Mayor Cristian Eccles and published in Official Gazette No. 30640-A on October 22, 2026. Both authorize the mayor to sign, on behalf of the municipality, inter-institutional cooperation and collaboration agreements with the Panamanian Sports Institute (PANDEPORTES).

Article 1 of Agreement 107 refers to the project to renovate, maintain and improve the gym, the swimming pool and the synthetic five-a-side football field in the Aguadulce township, on a 6,832.42 square meter plot of Real Property Folio 8732, owned by the municipality. Article 1 of Agreement 108 covers maintenance of the José Remón Cantera major league baseball stadium, on a plot of 2 hectares and 6,144.66 square meters of Real Property Folio 967, also municipal. According to the recitals, PANDEPORTES, as the governing body for sports, intends to carry out both projects.

Article 2 of each agreement grants a period of two (2) years from signature for the works to begin, and article 3 provides that they take effect from that same date. The arrangement combines municipal land with investment by a national entity: the municipality contributes the properties and PANDEPORTES would carry out the works, instead of the local government bearing their cost with its own funds.

For contractors in the region, the projects could translate into contracts to renovate and maintain sports facilities, although the agreements do not state amounts, funding sources or procurement methods, which will depend on the agreement and on PANDEPORTES procedures. For the local economy, facilities in better condition usually make it easier to host regional tournaments and events, an effect that depends on the works being carried out.

The agreements only enable the signing. The agreements with PANDEPORTES still have to be signed, their content and budget defined, and the works started within the two-year period, which would expire on September 30, 2028. Neither document sets an execution schedule, an investment amount or who will be responsible for maintaining the facilities afterwards. Nexo Capital will follow the signing of these agreements.
